Her trip starts out well, but then of course things start to go downhill when her ex shows up, her luggage disappears along with her money, her passport and everything else. Lists with This Book. This remains one of my all time favorite reads. The only thing that annoyed me is that there are other time travel books written by this author about other family members of Patrick’s but I could not find out the order.

A Garden in the Rain appealed to my reading interest. I think this is a book I would enjoy the second time around and probably if I had read the series in order.

This is another delightful adventure with a medieval knight and his future bride I enjoyed this book, although I thought it dragged a little towards the end. Feb 01, S rated it it was amazing Shelves: I loved the heroine, Madeleine, and her brassy personality, and Patrick MacLeod couldn’t be more chivalrous! The characters felt real, there is a interesting story line that actually gets attention instead of constantly being focused on the romantic escapades of the main charactersand the romance is clean instead of raunchy gain excessively descriptive.

He had been determined to help a young woman get a way from her brut of a father. During college, a chance encounter with a large library stack of romances left her hooked, gave her the courage to put pen to paper herself, and finally satisfied that need for a little bit of fantasy with a whole lot of romance! There are some situations in which her insecurities and hideous judgment would seem natural, but the reader is supposed to believe that Madelyn, a fearsome litigator Harvard-trained, no less who steadily rose to the top at her law firm back in Seattle, is the same Madelyn who had the supremely bad judgment to get involved with a rat.

Unfortunately, no matter how hard he tried to work things out with his ex she made things unbearable for him and on top of that committed suicide when things didn’t work out with her lover.

The book has it’s time travel portions as well as OH I think this is my favorite one The reader is also expected to accept that Madelyn is such a helpless sheep that she cannot secure her own belongings in a hotel room, control her own credit card, or even keep up with her passport. If she were a medieval woman, I could understand that. After a series of events and her introduction to Patrick she finds herself transported back in time, where she spends several weeks under awful circumstances.

Any book with sword fighting, ghosts with a sense of humor, castles, time travel, and fun characters is a good work of fiction to read. What a catch raih would have been! It’s been awhile since I’ve read a romance novel that wasn’t from an LDS author.
